Picky eaters? Maybe at first... but not when Vietnamese food works its magic! 😋

Picky eaters? Maybe at first... but not when Vietnamese food works its magic! 😋

And that’s exactly the story of two adorable kids from the Ambar family. Both were a bit picky at first, but with our Taste of Hanoi tour, they quickly discovered how irresistible local cuisine can be! Their parents couldn’t have been happier (and prouder) to see their little ones open up and give new dishes a try. 🥢✨

Because sometimes, food isn't just about taste, but also the stories and experiences that come with it. Like how Linh shared captivating tales about the vendors, the history of each dish, and how these traditional flavors have been cherished through generations. It turned the tour into something beyond food - but a journey through culture, history, and daily life in Hanoi. ❤️🌏

And what made this tour truly unforgettable? It happened to be Isabella’s birthday! Linh had a little surprise gift for her, and there’s a heartwarming story behind it. Curious to know what happened? Click to discover! 🎉🎁👇

two little ones with Linh

Here are our two little adventurers today: 7 years old and 5 years old siblings - and of course, on the left, we have Linh. As you might have guessed, these two were quite picky eaters and a bit shy around Linh at first. But Linh quickly broke the ice and encouraged them to try new dishes. Let’s take a look at all the delicious treats they got to enjoy today! 🥢✨

Ambar's family with our friendly local vendor

One thing we always aim to do for our lovely travelers is to create a special experience by helping them connect with locals and gain a deeper understanding of life here. In this photo, you can see the kind lady selling bánh giò (pyramid rice dumpling). Our family had a great time not only enjoying her delicious bánh giò but also learning more about her daily life as a vendor. ❤️🥢

Isabella learned how to use the chopsticks!

Next up, let’s dive into the Vietnamese salad! But first, it’s time for a little chopsticks showdown! Today’s chopstick master is none other than little Isabella. It was such a fun and new experience that she couldn’t stop giggling! And just look at her dad watching her so intently - totally invested in the moment. 🥢😂

learning to use chopsticks

Where there’s someone picking chopsticks, there’s got to be someone using them, right? 😄 Look at our 5-year-old trying so hard to use chopsticks! Isn’t that just the cutest thing ever? 🥢😍

A favorite spot for the family, especially the two little ones: Vietnamese donuts! 🍩 This treat may be small, but it wins big in everyone’s heart! 😋

This golden-brown treats offering a perfect balance of sweetness and crunch in every bite

There’s always that “taste test” look from the two little ones every time they try something new - priceless! 😂🍽️

But with this bowl of river crab noodle soup, that “taste test” look isn’t even necessary. Just one glance, and you know it’s delicious! 😋🍲

Look at our little one finishing every bite with that satisfied smile - no words needed, right? 😄🍜

The weather threw in a little rain that day, as you can see, but it didn’t stop the fun or the appetites from soaring! ☔🍜

Grilled skewers on a rainy day? Oh my, that’s a perfect combo! 🍢☔

Nothing beats the warmth and flavor when the weather's just right! A perfect evening with perfect little foodies! 😋🍢

Isabella looks adorable in her yellow raincoat and tiny conical hat! 🌧️💛👒✨

Knowing it was Isabella birthday, we prepared a special gift – a vibrant orange bamboo dragonfly. 🎁🎉✨Isabella was so fascinated, constantly placing it on her parents' hands to see how it balanced. But… somewhere between the food stops, she accidentally left it behind. 😔 It was too far to go back, and Isabella was really upset.

But don’t worry! Linh tracked it down and returned the precious gift to Isabella the next day. Look at that smile of pure gratitude on Isabella’s face – it’s enough to melt anyone’s heart! 😊She shyly hid the cutest thank-you note from her parents before giving it to Linh! 📝💖

Look at how the bamboo dragonfly balances on this little guy’s nose! Haha, it’s these little moments that truly make the journey unforgettable! 😄
