Today, we had the joy of welcoming three friends from Poland on their very first trip to Vietnam! ๐ต๐ฑโ๏ธ And where better to begin their journey than with ๐๐๐ง๐จ๐ข ๐๐๐ญ & ๐๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ๐ โ the perfect start to discovering our vibrant capital! ๐๏ธโค๏ธ
We started with a tasty bang โ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ข๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐ฅ๐จ๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐จ๐, of course! From breakfast to lunch and even some tasty snacks, we explored street vendors, bustling market stalls, and hidden gems to savor the best of Hanoi. And guess what? Our friends couldnโt get enough of bรกnh cuแปn (steamed rice rolls) and bรบn vแปt (duck noodle soup). โจ Fun fact: Aleksandraโs group shared that Vietnamese cuisine is so loved in Poland, there are plenty of Vietnamese restaurants back home. No wonder they were so excited to dig in!
Next, it was time for the โ๐๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ๐โ part! We wandered through Hanoiโs vibrant markets, stepped inside traditional homes, and visited ancient pagodas. To make the experience even more special, we tried our hands at Vietnamese music with instruments like the ฤร n bแบงu (zither) and cแปng chiรชng (bronze gongs). And to top it all off, we unleashed our creativity by painting nรณn lรก (conical hats), getting a true taste of Hanoiโs daily life and artistry.
Swipe through the photos and come along with us for the ride!
Say hi to Aleksandra, her boyfriend, and her sister Anna! ๐ Itโs their first time in Vietnam ๐ป๐ณ, and they joined us on a fun-filled "eat and explore" adventure around Hanoi ๐๐ฒ๐ฅข
With our guide, Milton, leading the way, they explored the busy markets, watched locals shop, trade (and sometimes bargain ๐), and go about their morning routines. The markets were full of life and energy ๐, and our Polish friends got to see what daily life in Vietnam is really like. They loved every moment! โค๏ธ
In places where you can find almost anything, our friends tried something truly unique: trแบงu โ betel leaf parcels, a Vietnamese cultural tradition ๐ฟ๐
With the help of the friendly vendor who skillfully prepared these beautifully arranged treats, they got to experience a taste of Vietnamโs heritage. Do you think they enjoyed the flavor? Let us know in the comments! โจ
Riding a cyclo through the heart of the Old Quarter is always an exciting adventure โ just look at their smiles! ๐๐ฒ This weather + a cyclo ride around the Old Quarter = pure bliss! ๐โจ
And waa โ hereโs a super unique and interesting stop on our journey: a traditional musicianโs house! ๐ถ๐ Can you guess what we did here?
Uncle Cฦฐแปng (the friendly uncle in the photo!) welcomed us into his home for a traditional Vietnamese tea and snacks ๐ต๐ฐ โ the kind of hospitality that warms your heart right away! He also gave us a peek into his passion for traditional Vietnamese musical instruments ๐ถ, which he and his wife have been crafting and selling for years.
Our friends even got to hear a soothing lullaby and a fun โHappy Birthdayโ song played on the ฤร n bแบงu (a one-of-a-kind Vietnamese instrument with a haunting sound that tugs at your heartstrings!) ๐ตโจ
With experiences like this, who wouldnโt want to give it a try? ๐๐
A full-filled journey wouldn't be complete without delicious food, right? ๐ Join us as we enjoy some freshly steamed bรกnh cuแปn! Watching the hot, delicate rolls being made at the tiny street-side stall while savoring them warm โ oh, itโs simply the best! ๐ฅข
Besides that, our friends also tried a super unique dish you might not have heard of before โ bรบn vแปt (duck noodle soup)!!! ๐ฆ๐ What do you think it tastes like?
Spoiler alert: they absolutely loved it! ๐ Aleksandraโs boyfriend was so hooked, he slurped up every last bite and left not a single drop! ๐
And next up, we visited a spot with a flavor full of history โ a classic tube house over 100 years old, a perfect example of old Vietnamese architecture. ๐ โจ Itโs like stepping back in time and saying, โHey, this is what homes looked like in the good old days!โ
Time to recharge with a refreshing, soul-soothing cup of chรจ!(Vietnamese sweet soup) ๐งโจ Sometimes, eating is about more than just the taste โ itโs about the sights too. Watching the vibrant ingredients come together is what makes enjoying chรจ not just delicious, but a feast for the eyes as well! ๐๐
And tadaaa โ here comes the super fun part! ๐ A mini workshop on painting conical hats (where your creativity meets a strong dose of tradition)! ๐๏ธ๐ Letโs get artsy with a touch of Vietnamese heritage!
First things first, we start with the outlines! ๐จ Milton was speechless because Annaโs drawing skills were off the charts! ๐ฒโจ Letโs see what her final masterpiece turns out to be! ๐๐๏ธ
Once the outlines are done, itโs time for the colors! ๐จ Aleksandraโs boyfriend went with the lotus flower, Vietnamโs national flower โ talk about a perfect choice! ๐ธโจ
Aleksandra decided to go with the Vietnamese flag! ๐ป๐ณA beautiful nod to the country sheโs exploring
Wala โ hereโs the result! ๐ Milton finally got to see the heartfelt art creations from Aleksandraโs group, and wow, they turned out beautifully! ๐โจ What do you think of their masterpieces?
