Today, under Hanoi's cozy autumn sunshine, we welcomed Soly and Tim, a lovely couple all the way from California, to our Taste of Hanoi tour! ๐ Fun fact: Tim had never been to Asia before, and guess what? Vietnam proudly became their gateway to this beautiful continent.
From dishes that had them swaying in delight ๐บ๐, to nแปm (Vietnamese green papaya salad) that felt like stepping into a whole new world of flavors, ๐๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ก ๐ฐ๐๐ฌ ๐ ๐ก๐ข๐ญ! And just when they thought it couldnโt get better, in came the bรกnh rรกn! A crispy, sweet little wonder that took the crown as their ultimate favorite. ๐โจ
What warmed our hearts even more? Hearing Soly and Tim say that this tour was ๐ฎ๐ง๐ฅ๐ข๐ค๐ ๐๐ง๐ฒ ๐๐จ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ. theyโd ever been on. No fancy restaurants, just ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ซ๐ฆ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ ๐ฅ๐จ๐๐๐ฅ ๐ ๐๐ฆ๐ฌ they wouldnโt have found without us. ๐ฅฐ
Meet Soly and Tim! When they struck a heart pose in the middle of a narrow Hanoi alley, Cream, our guide, couldnโt help but melt! The alleys may be tiny, but their sweetness? Oh, itโs extra large! ๐ฅฐ
A cool, breezy day like this calls for nothing less than slurping down a bowl of bรบn riรชu (crab noodle soup) on the sidewalk - perfection achieved! ๐
And for dessert? A quick boost of dopamine with some sweet soup - refreshing, sugary, and oh-so-satisfying! ๐จ
But wait, the showstopper of the day? Bรกnh rรกn! These crispy, donut-like treats had Soly and Tim head over heels. ๐ฅฏโจ Seriously, does anyone NOT fall in love with these little bites of joy?
Next up: watching bรกnh cuแปn magic happen! A plate of steaming hot rice rolls, freshly rolled right before your eyes. The lovely lady even handed them a plate straight from her cozy kitchen! ๐ฉโ๐ณ๐
Soly and Tim couldnโt stop raving about the food - proof that Vietnamese cuisine is simply unbeatable with delicious flavors, diversity, and healthy touch. Weโll proudly take that win! ๐๐ด
And hereโs the charm of Hanoi: locals flocking to tiny street stalls for warm, wobbly bรกnh giรฒ to enjoy while chatting away in the morning. The simplest joys, as you can see on screen! โจ
Street food magic doesnโt end there. Watching vendors mix and knead dishes right in front of you is an experience in itself!
This nแปm (Vietnamese green papaya salad) was another highlight of the day - a true beauty queen of flavors! Fresh, tangy, and so refreshing, it had everyone saying, "Wow, this is amazing!" ๐ฅโจ
And the perfect way to wrap up a day of feasting? A cup of drink in a tucked-away cafรฉ deep in a small alley โโจ On this special day, November 20th (Teachers' Day in Vietnam), our guide Cream and the couple shared stories about Teachers' Day in both Vietnam and the U.S. Fun fact: in California, they celebrate teacherโs day the whole week! ๐๐
