4 people, 2 countries - united by a shared love for hanoi's food!🥢

Say hello to our awesome duos of the day: Aviv and Tal from Israel, and Duke and Sheldon from the USA! 🎉 They started as strangers but ended up as food buddies on our amazing food adventure in Hanoi! 🍴✨

From nộm, fried donuts, bánh cuốn, to crispy pillow cakes, our crew was absolutely blown away by the flavors. Even though Aviv and Tal had been on a food tour before, this time was a whole new adventure - they got to taste all the real, authentic flavors of Hanoi!

The grand finale? A super fun dessert stop with a Vietnamese naming challenge that had everyone laughing! Who got an A+ from our guide Linh? You’ll have to see - tune in to find out! A little hint: there was even a round of enthusiastic applause! 😉

Join our crew as they explore Hanoi’s food scene and see how they rate the dishes! 😍

Let’s kick things off with a super fun challenge by Linh! 😄

At this sweet soup stop, Linh picked 4 types of chè – 2 hot, 2 cold – and let everyone choose their own bowl at random (no hints to keep the mystery alive! 😜). Tal jumped right in with chè sắn nóng (hot cassava soup), Aviv went for chè cốm thái (Thai-style sweet soup), Sheldon grabbed a bowl of bánh trôi tàu (Vietnamese floating rice dumplings), and Duke picked chè sen nhãn (lotus seed sweet soup)

And in the most magical way possible, everyone ended up with the exact chè they loved (with some friendly taste tests for comparison, of course)! 😂

Here comes the fun part we mentioned in the caption! Everyone had the important task of naming their top 3 favorite dishes from the tour... in Vietnamese! 😆

It took about 15 minutes of intense practicing! Sheldon was the star and aced it with an A+ 👏 (and got a well-deserved round of applause, as you can see in the pic!), followed by Duke and Tal with solid A's ✨, and Aviv ended up with an A- 😅 (he needed a little refresher).

Alright, now let’s see what they ate! 😋As you can see in the picture - grilled meat skewers! Everyone loved it, saying it was tender, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious – Vietnamese BBQ at its finest! 🍖🔥

And of course, they also tried bánh gối (fried pillow dumplings)! As soon as they saw it, Aviv’s wife immediately said, “Hey, these are empanadas!” 😂 Well, it might look like empanadas, but trust us, it’s a whole different ball game! 😜 Do you know what sets them apart?

Here’s a little secret: the filling was so delicious that our friends couldn’t stop talking about it. Seriously, it’s like magic wrapped in crispy pastry! ✨

The next dish completely stole Aviv and his wife’s hearts: banana fritters! 🍌Aviv took one bite of the banana cake and gave it a solid 10/10. As for Tal, it melted her heart! 💖 She took one bite and was like, “I could eat 10 of these!”

When Linh revealed the secret to making this dish so crispy and delicious, everyone was like, “We would never have guessed that in a million years!” 😆 So, do you know the secret to make banana fritters perfectly crispy?

When we reached the Vietnamese doughnuts, Aviv and his wife were like, “Oh, we’ve had these before!” But as soon as they took a bite of the fresh, crispy goodness, it was like poof - the old ones vanished from their memories! 😆

And guess what happened next? The whole group agreed – the honey-filled ones stole the show, with everyone saying they were the real MVP of the day! 🍩✨

Let's refresh our taste buds with something light and refreshing – nộm (green papaya salad with beef jerky)! 🥗 Duke was absolutely hooked on the nộm and declared it his second favorite dish of the day! 🥢

We wrapped up the day with some refreshing drinks! Everyone got a cup of herbal tea, while Aviv went for a delicious salty coffee 😆. And of course, we all cheered with a quick “1-2-3 zô!” after a speedy 5-minute practice session! (Our friends are getting so good at Vietnamese already!) 🍹
