Early morning at the local market:
Begin the day by visiting a bustling local market (chợ). In the narrow, crowded alleyways lined with makeshift stalls and vendors selling everything from fresh produce to household items, you’ll be immersed in the vibrant daily life of the city. Listen to the lively banter between sellers and buyers, breathe in the fresh aromas of herbs, spices, and street food, and take in the sights of colorful fruits, vegetables, and meats on display. Watch as locals carefully select the best ingredients for their meals, connecting you to the heart of Hanoi’s food culture
Have some Bánh Cuốn (steamed rice rolls) as breakfast:
Next, we'll head to a nearby bánh cuốn shop - one of Hanoi's classic breakfast spots. Here, we'll enjoy these delicate rice rolls filled with minced pork and mushrooms, served fresh with dipping sauce and herbs. This traditional dish is a local favorite for its light texture and savory flavors. We'll savor our breakfast as locals often do, taking time to enjoy each bite and appreciate the skilled preparation that goes into making these delicious rolls.
The Traditional Home:
After breakfast, we’ll head to a traditional house over 100 years old. This beautifully preserved home offers a unique glimpse into the daily rhythms of life in Hanoi from the past. With its traditional architecture and homely layout, the house captures the essence of how a typical local family might have lived, providing a sense of connection to Hanoi’s rich cultural heritage and everyday life.

Cyclo Ride – Savor the Streets of Hanoi:
We'll then travel back in time with a 30-minute cyclo ride through the Old Quarter. Once a vital means of transport in Hanoi, these three-wheeled taxis offer a glimpse into the city's past while we take in the sights, sounds, and smells of modern Hanoi. This nostalgic journey lets you experience how the city hums with life—perfect for unwinding after lunch.
Ba Da Pagoda – Seeking Peace:
Our cyclo will drop us off at Ba Da Pagoda, a tranquil oasis where locals come to pray for peace, health, and happiness. We’ll visit the serene pagoda and experience the calming atmosphere that helps families find inner balance and strength in their everyday lives.

We'll round out our day by enjoying a quiet moment over a cup of traditional Vietnamese coffee, while also participating in a fun, creative activity - decorating a nón lá (Vietnamese conical hat), or a bamboo dragonfly. This is where we'll experience the value of traditional crafts, preserving memories and culture through art. Together, we'll add a personal touch to our conical hats as a keepsake of the day.
